Spring 2020 Message to Students

Dear Students,

We hope you are staying safe and healthy during these difficult times. We are your representatives on the Harvard College Honor Council! As members of the Council, we recognize the challenges we are all facing between the end of the semester and the pandemic and want to provide you as much support as possible. Here are a few things we recommend as you finish up your classes, work on final projects, and study for those online timed or take-home exams:

1. Read the updated syllabi of all the courses you’re taking this semester, or, if the syllabus hasn’t been updated, take a moment to re-read the original syllabus. This way, you can stay up-to-date on and be reminded of the collaboration, extension, and citation policies for each course. Feel free to email your course staff for clarification questions.

2. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your Resident Dean or course staff if you require support or guidance on your work, including asking for extensions.

3. Take a few minutes to read the Honor Council's Top Five Tips. This is the place to check out if you want to know some specific actions you can take that will help you uphold the Honor Code.

Most importantly, all of us on the Honor Council are here to help, and as your representatives on the Council, we want to make ourselves especially available to all of you for any questions, study tips, or if you just want someone to talk to. Feel free to reach out to us at our email addresses listed below. Good luck with finals season -- sending you all virtual Honor Council chocolate bars and Felipe's nachos as you study!

Best,

The Honor Council
