Kate Penner

Preceptor in Mathematics
I am a preceptor in mathematics and a program coordinator for the Harvard College Emerging Scholars Program. I teach different flavors of calculus and linear algebra, and have been teaching in the department for seven years. My primary focus is on pedagogical approaches that tell the story of mathematics in ways that develop both a fluency with its everyday application and an appreciation for the field more broadly. I graduated from Harvard College in 2007 with a concentration in government and am interested in applications in political economy. I am also a faculty member at the Boston Ballet School and a professional dancer who performs in the Boston area.
